Happy Teacher’s Day! We Give You Bollywood’s Most Memorable Teachers

POPxo Team  |  May 6, 2016

They’ve scorched the screen and shown that they’re a force to reckon with. Patient, intelligent, warm (and sometimes super good-looking), these are teachers we’ve all wished we had! They definitely made these films worth watching, and make us think fondly of our school and college days every time we see them on the telly. To make sure you get that absolutely essential nostalgia fix, we give you Bollywood’s most memorable teachers. Happy Teacher’s Day, y’all! 🙂

Sushmita Sen in Main Hoon Na

With a teacher who looked Miss Universe-worthy, you could guarantee that class attendance would always be full!

Anil Kapoor in Andaz

We don’t blame Karisma Kapoor for falling head over heels for her teacher in this film – he was intelligent, kind-hearted and good looking.

Amitabh Bachchan in Black

He helps a blind, deaf and mute girl get a university degree and face life, and in turn she helps him remember his past as his own life falls apart because of Alzheimer’s. The Big B was quite the fierce principal in Mohabbatein too, and scared the wits out of us!

Divya Dutta in Stanley Ka Dabba

Like Divya Dutta in this film, we’ve all had that one teacher who has encouraged the creativity in us and made us love the subject she was teaching. She’s probably the one you message every year to tell her the impact she’s had on your life.

SRK in Chak De! India

Constantly pushing you to limits you never knew existed and helping you realize your full potential, while teaching you valuable lessons in love, teamwork and friendship – that’s a teacher any of us would be blessed to have. And wasn’t he utterly dreamy as the super-cool, violin-playing teacher in Mohabbatein?

Boman Irani in 3 Idiots

3 Idiots wouldn’t have been a complete film if it didn’t feature Boman Irani! He was the life of the movie, and one of the most fascinating characters in it. We’re pretty sure that all of us at one point or the other wanted to have him as a teacher in our school or college.

Aamir Khan in Taare Zameen Par

By far, Aamir Khan has played the best role of a teacher. His character had wit, humour, patience and a deep love of teaching. If only we had more teachers like him in schools here, our education system would be so much better!

Archana Puran Singh in Kuch Kuch Hota Hai

Not only could Miss Braganza teach you a thing or two about how to rock a short skirt and singing and dancing, but she even gave us that grave insight that “love is dosti”.
