One of the most awaited fashion events of the year, the Met Gala, is here and our jaws have dropped to the ground once again. The first Monday of May is marked on every celebrity and fashion enthusiast’s calendar as The Met Ball in bold, italics and underlined. Well, the looks from the Met’s pink carpet have been dropping in all morning and our brain, just like Instagram, is brimming with thoughts as outrageous as the outfits.

Deepika Padukone and Priyanka Chopra Jonas weren’t the only Indians at the Met, Isha Ambani and Natasha Poonawalla were in attendance as well.

However, Priyanka and Deepika’s looks have gone viral…and for good reason.

While Deepika went with a pink ‘Barbie girl’ custom gown by Zac Posen, Priyanka went all out with a custom Dior gown. We are impressed with the amount of crazy she brought!

A little background on the theme which is ‘Camp: Notes on Fashion’. If you’ve been expecting dungarees, boots, hats and other camp shenanigans, that’s not what the Metropolitan Museum of Art is about. The theme focuses on theatricality, impersonation and mascarade. Inspired by Susan Sontag’s essay called Notes on Camp which defines camp as – a seriousness that fails…the taste for an androgynous…the love of the unnatural and of the exaggerated – camp is truly in big business at the Met Gala 2019.
