The antibacterial properties of honey are one of the many reasons why you should add this sweet ingredient to your skincare routine. Honey is great for moisturizing our skin, helps prevent acne, slows down ageing and has soothing properties. Did you know Cleopatra was a huge fan of honey and regularly used it in her beauty routine?

How to use: Apply raw honey all over your face, let it sit for 20 mins and wash your face. You can also use it as a spot correcting treatment and apply just on your zits. Or simply mix one tablespoon of honey with two tablespoons of lemon juice for severe acne.

The divine smell of coconuts is the main reason why I have so many coconut-based products in my vanity. Coconut body sprays, cleansers, face cream- you name it. Apart from satisfying my nose, coconut has amazing skincare properties too. Coconut oil has anti-fungal and anti-bacterial properties. It has Vitamin E and nourishing properties that reduce the appearance of wrinkles and leave your face with a natural glow.

How to use: After your bath, apply 2-3 drops of coconut oil on your face and massage well for 2 minutes. Do this daily unless you have acne-prone skin, then it’s a hard pass.

How to use: Cut a small part of the tomato and squeeze out its contents. Remove the seeds from the juice and using a cotton pad, apply it evenly on your face and leave it for an hour. Leave overnight to wake up to beautiful, glowing skin.

Beautiful peeps with sensitive skin, skip this point, please! Oranges have a high amount of citric acid in them, hence it’s not advisable for people with sensitive skin. However, citric acid aids in skin exfoliation. Regular use of natural orange juice on your face has proven to make skin clearer, reduce stubborn spots and prevent acne. It also makes your complexion brighter- improving the overall texture of your skin.

How to use: Using a cotton pad, apply orange juice on your face 2-3 times a week and leave it on for 20 minutes. The peel has a higher content of Vitamin C so you can use that on your face as a scrub.

Why so vanilla?

How to use: In a bowl, add two tablespoons of milk and two drops of vanilla extract. Using a cotton ball, apply it evenly on your face and neck and leave it for 30 mins.
