Fashion Hits & Misses From The NMACC Launch Hosted By The Ambanis!

The Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre (NMACC) is all set for its launch in Mumbai and several desi and international stars graced the gala with their presence!

The NMACC, strategically located in the city’s central Bandra Kurla Complex, offers a rare alchemy of craft and culture derived from centuries of tradition. Aside from the exquisite display of the best in music, theatre, fine arts, and crafts, we also witnessed some interesting fashion looks by the guests.

Here are all the fashion hits and misses that we spotted at the NMACC launch:

Hits

Isha Ambani

The Ambani daughter absolutely slayed! Isha Ambani looked stunning in an ivory and gold fusion saree, which she paired with a matching cape. The contrasting kundan jewellery with green stones complemented the outfit. Also, her gold heels are simply iconic!

Shloka Ambani

The Ambani bahu, Shloka Ambani was the epitome of grace and feminity in a lustrous golden silk saree that was draped in Gujarati style. The constrasting baby pink pallu adorned in zari work added a little contemporary touch to the otherwise desi look. Shloka accessorised with statement earrings, kada, and a maangtikka.

Radhika Merchant

Radhika Merchant, the newest Ambani bahu, rarely disappoints. She looked stunning as she twinned in black with her Fiance. The diva wore a sheer black saree draped most fashionably, ideal for a girl who loves to be trendy! The saree’s border was embellished with white embroidery, and it was paired with a matching blouse with the most unique sleeves. The mini handbag and diamond necklace were the cherry on top!

Alia Bhatt

Alia Bhatt showed us what fusion style is all about as she arrived in a beautifully pleated metallic saree from Vaishali Studio. While the saree was a stunner in itself, it was the blouse that stole the show! Alia wore an off-shoulder silver blouse that came with 3D floral detailing. Also, the jewellery deserves a round of applause. Kudos, to Rhea Kapoor for the impeccable styling!

Deepika Padukone

Make way for the queen! Deepika Padukone looked like a modern-day Mastani, as she shone brighter than the convention centre. The actress wore an Indo-western ensemble by Anamika Khanna consisting of a heavily embroidered beige and gold blazer and matching trousers. The modern Mastani teamed the look with a long, sheer cape. The stunning maangtikka and earrings complemented the already extravagant look. Simply iconic!

Priyanka Chopra

In a peachish-pink sheer gown with a strapless corset-like bodice dripping in diamonds, the actress looked straight out of a fairytale. She went all out with the look, accessorising it with a cape adorned with 3D flowers. In addition, the magical outfit had pockets! Truly a magnificent entry!

Kiara Advani

Kiara Advani twinned with her husband, Siddharth Malhotra, in the most beautiful ivory hue. She wore a rather voguish lehenga decked in shimmer featuring a mermaid-cut silhouette. It was teamed with a blouse exclusively made of pearls. The actress completed the look with a champagne gold dupatta. Truly one of my most favourite looks!

The Khans

The Khan-daan arrived sans Shah Rukh Khan and managed to make a statement even without him. Despite wearing such contrasting colours, Gauri Khan and Suhana Khan’s silhouettes complemented each other perfectly. While the mother looked stunning in a champagne gold corset gown with a hint of traditional, the daughter looked hot in a bright red strapless corset gown.

Kareena Kapoor Khan

The Pataudis looked like royalty as they arrived in red and white. Kareena Kapoor complemented her husband’s ivory sherwani in a bright red lehenga by Anjul Bhandari. The ensemble was adorned with classic chikankari work and came with a satin-silk dupatta. Bebo completed the look with statement chaandbalis.

Mira Kapoor

Mira Kapoor looked absolutely angelic in a white gown from the Italian brand, Gretelz Milano. The romantic gown featured an open back, a halter neck, and a long train. It was adorned with sheer, cape-like sleeves that Mira wore like fairy wings. She added some colour to the all-white ensemble with mint green jewellery from Renu Oberoi and Amrapali Jewels. Definitely one of her best looks in recent times!

Misses

Neetu Kapoor

Even at her age, Neetu Kapoor is a fashionista, but she fell flat this time. She arrived wearing a grey pleated kaftan dress with a metallic bag and matching heels. While I adore her sapphire earrings and dainty bracelet stack, the outfit was just not right. TBH, it’s time to say goodbye to kaftans.

Sonam Kapoor Ahuja

When it comes to fashion, Sonam Kapoor rarely fails to impress. We had high expectations because her appearance is always on point. Unfortunately, the diva was unable to meet them. Sonam arrived in an ivory anarkali that she attempted to style differently, but it did not go well. On the plus side, the jewellery and mini bag did well.

Kriti Sanon

Kriti Sanon attempted to stand out, and while she did, it was for all the wrong reasons. The actress wore an all-red ensemble that included a signature long Valentino shirt dress, a matching cape, boots, and handbag. While the look could have worked at another event, it didn’t fit the vibes of this one.

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan

It’s upsetting when the country’s style icon fails to deliver. Aishwarya Rai Bachchan did not come through in a velvet green ensemble. The outfit consisted of a lehenga and a hideous kurti-style blouse. Aish, please don’t make yourself look that old! The only positive in the outfit was the brocade dupatta that could’ve been paired with literally anything else!

Athiya Shetty

We had high hopes for Athiya Shetty, especially after the Dior show. However, the actress highly disappointed when she arrived dressed in an Indo-western black outfit. Her full-sleeved cropped blouse was paired with matching trousers and a sloppy-draped dupatta. At the very least, the heels attempted to save the look.

Karisma Kapoor

Lolo could have done a lot better! Karisma Kapoor’s saree just didn’t look right on her. The sheer black cape only made matters worse. Lolo might have made it without the cape and the hideous earrings. At the very least, the Sabyasachi clutch looked chic.

Thanks to the Ambanis, we got to witness quite a star-studded fashion show!
