Missing Your Parlour Didi? Here Are A Few Ways You Can Get Rid Of Unwanted Facial Hair

Now that we haven’t seen our parlour didi for weeks, how does one get rid of facial hair? Well, you’ll be pleased to know there are plenty of ways and tools you can use. It’s a fact- all women have facial hair. Some parts of our body have more hair than others. And that could be the case even on our faces. A lot of factors contribute to women having facial hair; hormonal and hereditary. And honestly, there’s NOTHING to be ashamed of.

It’s time we all became more comfortable with our body hair, embrace it and never shame anyone because of it. But if having hair on your face is personally bothering you, we are here to help you get rid of it, sans parlour didi.

Ways To Get Rid Of Facial Hair

We’ve got all the tips, tricks, tools and tutorials of the trade lined up for you.

Shaving

We often disregard shaving our face using a razor as ‘thicker and coarser’ hair will grow back in its place but did you know, that’s really not the case. Shaving your face is perhaps the easiest way to get rid of unwanted hair from our faces.

Shaving is also a cheaper version of dermaplaning at the dermatologist’s clinic. Not only will it remove the unwanted hair but it also removes dead skin, exfoliates your face, revealing super soft skin. AND it makes your skincare products penetrate better. It’s a double win-win. Grab a clean and fresh razor and make sure you do this on clean, dry skin. And yes, you can even use this to get rid of peach fuzz on your upper lips!

Waxing

Waxing your face using wax strips or wax beans has become really popular in the last couple of years as all it takes is that one pull and all your hair? It’s gone. If you want to do this at home, the next time you step out on a grocery run, pick up some at-home facial waxing strips. Or if you’re feeling crafty, make your own wax.

Tweezing

Admit it, we all have that one annoying hair growing out of our chin for no apparent reason. But some of us do get more than one sleazy little strand of hair due to hormonal reasons such as PCOD. Tweezing is one such way to pluck out all the unwanted facial hair from our brows, upper lips and even chin. But this works best if you have only a few stray hairs.

Using An Epilator

I was introduced to epilators via my sister and it honestly has saved me so many parlour trips and money)! They are like multiple tweezers in one handy machine, plucking out unwanted hair from the root. With time, an epilator has actually been proven to reduce the frequency of your hair growth.

This is a good (but painful) option if you get thick hair on your face.

Coil It Up

Perhaps you’ve heard of these snakelike mini gadgets that work by grabbing hair straight from the root while you roll it across your pretty face. They feel like multiple tweezers on your face and hurt a little more than others techniques but once you get a hang of it, you can use it while drinking your morning coffee.

Use An Electric Shaver

These pocked sized version of an epilator are all the rage right now. Everyone who has used this cannot stop raving about how quick and effortless getting rid of unwanted hair has become. All you need is to press the button and rub it wherever you need to remove the hair from- it’s that simple.

Parlor didi, you shall be missed.

Now that the lockdown has been extended, you can definitely try one of these methods to remove hair from your face.
