Ed Sheeran Announced His Engagement & This Is How He Proposed

If Arijit Singh is who we turn to when we need soulful background scores for the one that got away, Ed Sheeran is definitely the one who plays cupid and gives us music that inspires us to cherish ‘the one’ in our lives.

Which is exactly why our hearts grew three sizes bigger when we heard that Ed had proposed to his high school sweetheart, Cherry Seaborn!

”Got myself a fiancé just before new year,” said Ed, in the caption, alongside a photo of him giving Seaborn a sweet peck on the cheek. “We are very happy and in love, and our cats are chuffed as well xx.”

According to BBC, Sheeran and Seaborn met in high school in the U.K. and have been dating for about three years. She attended Duke University in North Carolina, where she also played hockey. She later helped England’s U21 team win a bronze medal at the 2012 European Championships.

It was back in May 2017 that Russell Crowe accidentally confirmed Sheeran’s engagement with Seaborn in an interview with radio DJs in Australia. Crowe and Sheeran have been great friends for several years, and it was during one of their conversations that Ed mentioned the news to Crowe.

According to the Metro, it was during a Facebook Live chat with Australian radio DJs Fitzy and Wippa that Crowe referred to their blossoming friendship and branded Seaborn Ed’s ‘fiancee’.

‘[Ed] was on tour here and he was getting a bit burned out so he came up and stayed at the farm for a couple of days to get some sleep and then we became conversational mates,’ revealed Crowe. ‘He has subsequently gone back to the farm with his fiancee for more time.’

Ed also revealed that the hit song ‘Perfect’ from his latest album Divide was written for her, and to be honest if that’s not #RelationshipGoals, I don’t know what is!

Thank you for capturing your love in a photograph, Ed. And we wish you nothing but the ‘perfect’ journey together!

P.S: We can’t wait for your wedding already!
