It’s Self-Care Time: 3 DIY Charcoal Face Masks That Will Detoxify Your Skin

Ever woken up feeling like your skin was clogged and your pores were just full of sebum and oil? Well, don’t let this stop you from feeling fabulous and a quick and easy way to do that is by applying a charcoal face mask. It has the ability to detoxify the skin, fight whiteheads and soak up all the excess oil. If you are more of a DIY kinda person, then you can actually make a homemade charcoal face mask by yourself.

Say bye-bye to expensive store-bought ones cause we’re telling you how to make a charcoal face mask for every skin type.

Oily Skin Peeps, This One’s For You

Ingredients:

2 tbsp clay

2 activated charcoal capsules

2 tbsp apple cider vinegar

1 drop essential oil

Methods:

Step One: Mix all the wet and dry ingredients in a bowl until it forms a paste.

Step Two: Apply it to your face and leave it on for 15 minutes and then wash off with room temperature water.

Clay and activated charcoal are actually superb for oily skin as they both absorb excess oil. Along with that essential oil like tea tree and apple cider vinegar also work well for fighting breakouts.

For Those Of You With Acne-Prone Skin

Ingredients:

1 tbsp activated charcoal

1 tbsp aloe vera

1 drop tea tree oil

Method:

Step One: Mix all the ingredients together in a bowl until you get a thick paste.

Step Two: Work the mask onto your skin in gentle, circular motions and leave it on for 15 minutes.

Step Three: Rinse it off with warm water and say hello to squeaky clean skin.

It’s important to not allow oily and acneic skin to go into overdrive. While charcoal cleanses and unclogs pores, aloe vera soothes and calms down the skin.

For Irritated Skin

Ingredients:

1 tbsp raw honey

1 tsp matcha powder

1 activated charcoal capsule

Method:

Step One: Add the honey to a bowl and then mix in the matcha powder and activated charcoal powder.

Step Two: Apply the mask on your skin with your fingers and leave it on for 15 mins.

Step Three: Rinse it off and moisturise.

Honey is very moisturising for the skin and along with matcha helps with redness, inflammation, and irritation. Matcha also is filled with antioxidants so is a great skincare ingredient.
