Missing Your K-Beauty Products? Here’s How You Can Make Your Own DIY Pimple Patches

Pimples are a common sight during the lockdown. Our bodies are trying to adapt to a new way of life at home. We’re sleeping at odd hours, stuffing our faces with whatever we can find in the kitchen, picking at our skin ‘coz of boredom, not exercising enough – our schedules have gone for a toss and unless we do something about it, our skin is only going to get worse.

While it’s not too late to change our ways, there’s another trick we can try to get rid of that pesky zit overnight. You guessed, right, pimple patches! A Korean-beauty invention, pimple patches are moisture-absorbing dressings that are made of hydrocolloid that are used to shrink the size of the pimple and banish it for good. While they’re pretty popular in Japan and South Korea, they aren’t commonly available in India yet (unless you buy them online)

Don’t be disheartened if you can’t buy pimple patches. Let’s think out of the box! Maybe use something like blister plasters? The good news is that blister plasters are available in plenty at local pharmacies for 200-700 bucks. What’s interesting is that they’re as effective as pimple patches! Here’s how to make your own pimple patch at home.

Step 1: Use scissors to cut small circles out of the blister patch.

Step 2: Wash your face with a mild cleanser and pat your skin dry with a towel.

Step 3: Place the patch on the acne and leave it on overnight.

Step 4: Remove the patch in the morning and wash your face again.

The next morning, you would notice that your pimple has become smaller in size. Like pimple patches, blister plasters also contain hydrocolloid that helps to dry the pimple out. Pretty neat, right?
