It’s that time of the year that all the lights are lit up, houses shine brighter, people are happier and it’s a festive atmosphere all around. However, it’s also that time of the year when the pollution levels skyrocket all thanks to the amount of firecrackers people burst. Animals are terrified, the air becomes unbreathable and the noise pollution is a whole lot. We already know all of this yet every year people still burst crackers.
This year, to promote a green and clean Diwali the Delhi Government will witness an ‘illusion of firecrackers’ through projection mapping. Reports also suggest that it won’t be an ordinary laser show but a grand event.
That’s right, Delhites stay tuned for this because it is supposedly a four-day celebration from October 26 to 29. The festival is being hosted by an event management company in association with the tourism department.
There will also be a festival along with this- bands and artists will be performing and there won’t be any entry fee. So, have fun and enjoy free of cost.
It has taken a total of INR 2 crore to host the event at Central Park in Connaught Place. There will also be a setup of handicraft and food kiosks from Dilli Haat. Delhi Chief Minister, Arvind Kejriwal has appealed to the citizens to attend the fest. Delhi’s Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia also said that cars won’t be allowed in CP’s inner circle during the set time period, special parking will be created nearby for convenience. Electronic vehicles will also be present to take people from one part to another.
So have a safe Diwali and green Diwali everyone and let’s not worsen the world we’re living in in the name of ‘fun’.
