Hydrate, Moisturise & Refresh With The Best Cleansers For Dry Skin

There are plenty of great cleansers in the market, but not every product will work wonders for your skin. If you have dry and flaky skin, you need a special cleanser which is designed for your skin type. Before we talk about products, allow us to help you understand more about your skin type. Smoking, constant sun exposure, overwashing the skin, change in weather, unbalanced pH levels, not moisturising the skin enough – are some of the common causes for dry skin.

Speaking of face cleanser for dry skin, invest in a product that moisturises, hydrates and nourishes the skin. Something that cleanses your skin well without drying it out. A no-brainer way to shop for a cleanser for your skin type is to read the packaging. The targeted skin type is labelled on the product and after that, take a quick look at the ingredients list. To treat dry skin, keep an eye out for ingredients like lanolin, shea butter, plant oils, squalene, glycerin, hyaluronic acid, ceramides, shea or cocoa butter.

FAQs

Can a cleanser cause dry skin?

It all depends on the type of cleanser you choose for your skin. For dry skin, you will need a cleanser that hydrates, moisturises and nourishes your skin without stripping it from its natural oils. If you use an incorrect cleanser like one for oily or acne-prone skin, it is going to dry out your skin even further.

What ingredients in a cleanser benefit dry skin?

Lanolin, shea butter, plant oils, squalene, glycerin, hyaluronic acid, ceramides, shea or cocoa butter are beneficial for dry skin.

Is it okay to use a cleanser on dry skin every day?

As long as you are using a hydrating cleanser, you have nothing to worry about.

How many times in a day should you wash dry skin with a cleanser?

Twice. Once in the morning and once at night. Over-washing your face will lead to dry skin and strip your face off the essential oils.

Which are the toxic ingredients in a cleanser that can dry skin out?

Salicylic acid, AHA acids, SLS, ALS, sodium cocoate and synthetic fragrances can dry your skin out.
