cheap beauty products

Most of us assume that expensive beauty products = high quality. While that may be true, drugstore products are no less. Just because they have a lower price tag, it does not mean that they’re inferior to luxury beauty products. On the contrary, if you know where to look, you will find products even better than them. Here are some of the cheapest, but the best beauty products team POPxo owns.

Team POPxo Shares The Cheapest, But Best Beauty Products They Own

Tried and tested, these beauty products are dear to our hearts (and wallets).

Maybelline New York Instant Age Rewind Eraser Dark Circles Treatment Concealer

Honestly, blush is one of the most underrated makeup product ever. It gives a healthy colour to the skin and makes you look flushed. I have been using this blush by MyGlamm for the past year now and it’s really become the one I reach out for more than any of my others. It’s pigmented and suits Indian skin tones well so I apply it onto the apples of my cheeks and even my nose so that my skin looks rosy and lovely.

Neutrogena UltraSheer Dry-Touch Sunblock SPF 50+

This skincare product from Neutrogena has been my go-to sunblock for five years now! From all the sunblocks available market, I find this one to be the most affordable and effective against UVA and UVB rays. I love it because it doesn’t leave that annoying white cast on the skin post-application nor does it clog the pores. It’s lightweight and moisturising at the same time. On most days, I follow my CTM routine and apply this sunscreen after, and I’m good to go.

Faces Canada Magneteyes Kajal – Deep Black

If you cannot step out of your home without applying a kohl liner, then you have to try the Faces Magneteyes Kajal. It is super black, very pigmented, long-lasting and doesn’t smudge at all. After trying out some of the most expensive kajals (think MAC, Smashbox and Dior), I found this to be my BFF. Unlike other kajals, it doesn’t spread when I apply it on my lids too. It costs only Rs. 179 but most of the time it is on sale. You have to try it today if you love defining your peepholes with kajal.

Juicy Chemistry Prickly Pear, Chia & Tamanu Eye Roll On

I’ve got to say that last year my eyes were under some serious strain. Cue puffy eyes, dark circles, and all that jazz that no amount of caffeine and/or sleep chased away. I tried the Juicy Chemistry Prickly Pear, Chia & Tamanu Eye Roll-On a whim and with little hope, because nothing else had worked before but to my surprise, it really did help! Though it is only a 7ML bottle, it lasts for at least 2 months (give or take, depending on how often you apply it) and feels really soothing on the skin. All for 600 bucks, so take my money!

Wet N Wild Color Icon Eyeshadow Glitter Single

I am obsessed with glittery and sparkly things. Whether it is clothes or makeup, I don’t mind going OTT especially when I’m to attend a party or a wedding. And guess what? There’s one super cheap and handy product that has always come to my rescue when I want to add that oomph to my makeup. I’m talking about the Wet N Wild Color Icon Eyeshadow Glitter. This one comes in 3 shades, and all are the neutrals you must have in your makeup kit. The eyeshadow is heavily pigmented, easy to remove, and the glitter particles don’t feel heavy on your eyelids at all. The best part? You can afford it even if you’re a college student. It costs just Rs 135 per shade!

RAS Luxury Oils Lush Lips Conditioning Lip Scrub With Grapefruit & Orange

As someone who happens to be an absolute sucker for intense, ultra-matte lipsticks, I sure know the value of a good lip product. And as much as you might think that all those lip balms would help, it’s a heavy-duty lip scrub that can both moisturise and exfoliate is what matte lippie connoisseurs actually need in their beauty arsenals. That’s exactly why the RAS Luxury Oils Lush Lips Conditioning Lip Scrub is a product that I swear by and always carry in my bag. It’s awesome, luxe comes packed with the goodness of Vitamin C and leaves your lips feeling like lush velvet. With all the awesomeness that it comes packed with at an MRP of just Rs. 590, trust me, it’s an absolute steal. Also, not gonna lie, I would have to throw away all my matte Estee Lauder lipsticks, had it not been for this lip scrub!

Maybelline New York Face Studio Master Chrome Metallic Highlighter

At the ripe old age of 29, I discovered highlighters. As someone who focuses on skincare and uses minimal makeup, I was definitely late to the highlighter party. But once a friend dabbed some of hers on my face while getting ready for a wedding, I fell in love and have never looked back! I then searched far and wide for the perfect highlighter and was tempted to buy some fancy international brands. But my wallet urged me to look in my own backyard (local drugstore) and I chanced upon the Maybelline Chrome Highlighter. For the amount of product, the lovely pigment and buttery texture, I couldn’t believe it retails only for Rs 550! And now my inner makeup junkie and bank account live in perfect harmony. My makeup routine still remains minimal- mascara, concealer, and a hint of blush. But highlighter gives me that gorgeous sun-kissed glow even on the gloomiest of days!
