This World Happiness Day, LOL With The Funniest Bollywood Movies Out There!

Hug the person sitting to next to you, just do it. Why? Because today is the International Day of Happiness and that is just another reason to smile. Get on the bandwagon and drive to a happy place this Tuesday. Everyone has their own medium of happiness, some people like to read quotes on happiness, some prefer to sleep the day away and some binge on some yummy food. I for one, am a Bollywood nerd who is happiest while watching a feel-good movie. So this World Happiness Day, I decided to make a list of the funniest Bollywood movies out there that I guarantee, will make your day better.

1. Jaane Bhi Do Yaaro (1983)

A movie that was way ahead of its time, Jaane Bhi Do Yaaro is a masterpiece and iconic in every possible way.

2. Hera Pheri (2000)

If you haven’t seen this movie then you’re living an incomplete life. One of Akshay Kumar’s best work, to be honest.

3. Gol Maal (1979)

This was the original Bol Bachchan. The comic timing is perfect and the dialogues are guaranteed to become a part of your vocabulary.

4. Munna Bhai M.B.B.S. (2003)

Sanjay Dutt proved he was meant to be Munna Bhai with his comeback film, not to forget the OG Munna-Circuit bromance that nobody can beat.

5. Chupke Chupke (1975)

This film is the definition of comedy in chaos. Star-studded and beautifully shot, watch this one with your parents.

6. Bol Bachchan (2012)

Inspired from Gol Maal (like we mentioned), this wasn’t the first movie to work with this storyline. Bol Bachchan was a mindless comedy but definitely a comedy at that.

7. Andaz Apna Apna (1994)

I shouldn’t have to sell this movie. You know it and you love it. This movie gave us Crime-master Gogo, need I say more?

8. Welcome (2007)

A movie that doesn’t require you to understand the plot if you start watching it mid-way. Random but pretty funny, Welcome does not disappoint.

9. Malamaal Weekly (2006)

A rustic comedy with some crude humor, overall Malamaal Weekly is your typical fall-off-the-table laughing movie without even trying very hard.

10. Hulchul (2004)

You don’t see a lot of romantic comedies in Bollywood but this movie pretty much nailed it. Hulchul will leave you humming the songs and laughing at the absurdness of the story.

11. Chachi 420 (1997)

This Bollywood adaptation of the Tamil film Avvai Shanmughi, inspired by Mrs. Doubtfire is the only desi film which was as hilarious as the original, all thanks to Kamal Hassan.

Happy binge-watching, ladies!
