The Most AMAZING Shaadi Decor Ideas… From Bollywood Movies!

Be it lehengas, bridal jewellery or stunning makeup…Bollywood is our one stop inspiration for everything wedding. So this time we decided to go a step ahead and explore the big screen for shaadi decor too! And yes, we were surprised by all the awesomeness that came our way. From dreamy to quirky to totally fun, there’s something in there for everyone! Check out these amazing bollywood inspired wedding decor ideas.

1. The cutesy umbrella

Now we’ve all seen those Jaipuri umbrellas at weddings, but this dreamy one just takes the cake! We love the strings of fairy lights and the gold sequences that dangle from the umbrella. Be it a garden engagement or an indoor cocktail night, this one element is sure to light up your venue.

2. Floral arches

While we are all used to seeing elaborate floral arrangements at weddings, the trend these days is that of pastel shades. And Bollywood sure seems to be ahead of time. We spotted these gorgeous floral arches in two movies and they are as charming as can be.

3. Fluorescent frames!

This is one idea we are sure you remember from the Alia Varun starrer! Pop coloured frames hanging at the venue don’t just look pretty, but also serve as fun photo props. Throw in some strings of fairy lights…and there you have it. The perfect setup for a dreamy engagement night.

4. The wedding swing

Remember the super gorgeous swing Katrina and Hrithik were romancing on during their wedding sequence in Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara? Well, now that’s something you’ve totally got to have at one of your ceremonies. It’s that one simple addition that can add tons of drama to your decor.

5. Pretty lanterns

Truth be told, I have a major obsession with lanterns. They just happen to add that magical feel to your decor. And we spotted not one but three totally gorgeous lantern styles…one each for your mehendi, sangeet and wedding.

6. Sunflower, anyone?!

Another one from the ultra chic wedding setup of Hrithik and Katrina in ZNMD! A gigantic sunflower cutout is the prop for a sundowner mehendi ceremony. It could be the backdrop for the bride’s couch or just serve as a backdrop for photo ops.

7. Royal elephants

So Duke and Minty’s wedding in 2 States was absolutely epic and if there’s any idea we’re stealing it is that of the gigantic elephants at the entrance! The elephant statues are great to add that royal and traditional look to your venue.

8. Bulbs are so fun!

The good ol’ bulbs are back, and how! You can see them being used everywhere as decor elements and weddings are no exception. Suspended from a tree like structure, these are sure to add oodles of charm to your venue.

9. Just like a fairytale

Bird Cages are quite the “in” thing right now. But we especially love how they were done up in this one song from Hasee Toh Phasee. Pretty yellow flowers lined the base of the cage with fairy lights wrapped all around it. Suspended from the bottom were crystal and flower strings. Looks straight out of a fairytale right?!
