Red symbolises auspiciousness, happiness, prosperity and fertility, and which is why it is considered a traditional colour for the bridal joda. This is so traditional and so beautiful. And this bride went tip-to-toe red! She kept the odhni simple to let the heavy blouse and velvet kalidar lehenga stand out. I can’t take away my gaze from the intricate embroidery on her skirt. So pretty!

2. A hint of green
We love how the green at the bottom of the skirt breaks the red – and it’s a classic combination. Since the red bridal lehenga itself is so heavy, the bride kept her dupattas super simple and light. The fully-embellished skirt is beyond gorgeous.

3. Polka dot it!
This is a classic red colour but the geometrical design on the lehenga makes it anything but traditional. We love how this lehenga’s pattern is formed by repeating small geometrical elements, down to the super-heavy border at the bottom.

4. Down to the basics
There are two unusual things about this beautiful red lehenga design. One, it has absolutely no embroidery – the lehenga is made from panels of tomato-red woven silk. Second, it is the least embellished lehenga we have ever seen, complementing the no-fuss look of the bride herself.

We love the elaborate floral themed embroidery on this deep-red bridal lehenga. The dabka work really stands out on the velvet. She complemented the skirt with a gold odhni edged with red. And there’s no border-work on the skirt!

The gold embroidery enhances each discrete kali of this stunning red lehenga design. We love how this bride lets the skirt shine by keeping her dupattas and blouse super simple. Plus, we love the combination of the two separate red and gold dupattas.

Another silk red bridal lehenga but this one has heavy embroidery work at the bottom. Instead, the bride took a super-heavy gold odhni on her head – and it is stunning. I’m in love with the super-deep red colour of the silk.
