5 Amazing Makeup Trends to Raise the Temperature This Winter!

Anshita Juneja  |  May 6, 2016

Come winters, and your whole wardrobe changes from summer maxis and flip-flops to oversized jumpers and leather boots. It’s not just your wardrobe which undergoes a change, your well-put-together vanity case goes for a makeover too. Orange lipsticks and pink blushes take a backseat when it comes to your winter makeup – and just in case you don’t know what this means, this post is meant to explain just that!

1. Berry Lips

This is a no-brainer. Winter is synonymous with deep hues and berry lips, and they just seem to meld into our fall wardrobes with ease. Though these stay with us for about 4 months, we wish we could wear them all year around!

My recommendations: MAC Diva, MAC Rebel and Revlon Parisian Passion

2. Dewy Skin

In summers, we hate it to the core, but come winters we take out all our satin or dewy foundations and BB creams. Who doesn’t need that extra glow? Chuck your powders and compacts in a corner, because these 4 months we can let our skin look as shiny as it can be (terms and conditions applied)!

My Recommendations: Inglot YSM Foundation, Garnier BB Cream, MAC Studio Sculpt, MAC Mineralize Foundation

3. Highlighters

The only thing apart from dewy foundations to take your glow to a whole another level! Just dust some over the top of your cheekbones to get that bright and happy-looking skin. You don’t necessarily have to invest in fancy highlighters like Bobbi Brown Shimmer Brick – just use a shimmery beige eyeshadow as a highlighter.

My Recommendations: MAC Soft and Gentle Mineralize SkinFinish and Bobbi Brown Shimmer Brick

4. Cream Blushes

I run away from even the sight of them in summers, but come winters I not only use them but sleep with them. Just kidding. Powder blushes can look a little patchy at this time of the year. Dab some cream blush instead with your fingers and blend for a naturally flushed look. The colours to look at are reds and plums.

My Recommendations: Nyx Cream Blush and Inglot Cream Blush

5. Fluttery Lashes

Get your eyelash game on by opting for volumizing mascaras if you can’t deal with fake lashes (which, btw, nobody can). Use mascaras with a thicker wand and denser bristles to get more volume. Apply at least 2-3 coats and you are set. Although, if you wear glasses then you might want to avoid that. Yes, we understand.

My Recommendations: Maybelline Colossal Volume Mascara, Maybelline Hypercurl MascaraBenefit Are They Real? Mascara
