Akshay Kumar Brings Reel To Real Life, Builds Bio-Toilets Worth Rs 10 Lakh In Mumbai

Remember how Akshay Kumar and Twinkle Khanna got a lot of flak on social media for posting a picture right around the release of Akshay’s movie – Toilet, Ek Prem Katha?

Twinkle Khanna had posted this picture saying her morning walk was ruined because she saw this happening. However, people simply called this a social media stunt to promote their movie.

Open defecation is common and, in all honesty, the people are really not the ones to blame. A lot of slum areas in the metropolitan cities have no facilities for washrooms hence people are forced to go out in the open. Akshay has been very vocal about how proper sanitation is one of the important issues of today’s times.

Now putting his thoughts into action, Akshay Kumar has built toilets worth Rs 10 lakh on the Juhu beach to help in combat this problem. Akshay teamed up with Aditya Thackeray, one of the Shiv Sena leaders, to build these toilets around these toilets.

According to the local Municipality person, this will not just be for the local slum dwellers, but will also help people who are visiting the beaches. The toilets will be bio-toilets and hence will steer clear of all the public toilet stench.

Hoping this turns out for the better for all the Mumbaikars. Kudos, Akshay. You are our real-life hero!
