This Actor Just Compared ‘Student Of The Year 2’ To ‘Avengers: Endgame’ & We’re Like WHAAAT?

Recently, I reviewed Karan Johar’s Student Of The Year 2 and while I was recovering from it, I stumbled across an interview that was just as bizzare as the movie. Aditya Seal, the actor who played the antagonist in the movie, said that people who didn’t like SOTY2 but loved Avengers: Endgame are being hypocritical. Wait, WHAT?

Student Of The Year 2 released on Friday last week and while the movie did manage to reach the Rs 40-crore mark, it received a lot of flak for the unrealistic portrayal of student life in colleges. Aditya Seal played the role of Ananya Panday’s brother, Manav, who thrashes people because they can’t get his name right. Apart from his greasy hair and expressionless dialogue delivery, his overall character in the movie was unnecessary, too. He might have been unsuccessful at scaring me with his villain-like antics, but his comparison of SOTY2 with Avengers: Endgame definitely got me there!

When asked about his opinion on people’s criticism for SOTY2, Aditya said, “That is exactly the section of society who will watch Avengers and love it and believe that superheroes exist, but they will give us flak for it.”

Vouching for his movie, Aditya further said, “This is a fantasy. Who wouldn’t want to be a part of a school like this where you have such amazing-looking people and the school is this good? We are just trying to create a world for people where they can just watch it and be like, ‘Oh, I wish I was a part of this!’ When I watch Avengers, I want to be a part of it. I want to be Tony Stark/Iron Man. The same way, we are trying to create a world for them.”

Yeah, sure, like a dejected lover/student from Pishorilal Chamandas College can have the same character arc as Iron Man, the owner of Stark industries and saver of the world. Or the villain beating people up for not saying his name right can be equated with Thanos. LOL!

The actor further said, “Haters will be haters, but they will still come and watch it.” They might (or might not, if they feel for their money), but let’s not compare Students Of Karan Johar with Avengers, please? It hurts us!

After this interview, he was mercilessly trolled on Twitter.

Have you watched the movie yet? What do you think about it?
