Want to stay updated with the latest beauty trends? Look no further than social media platforms like Instagram and TikTok. While access to the latter has officially been revoked in India, TikTok beauty stars often repost their makeup tricks and hacks on their Instagram handles so Indian skincare and makeup buffs do get some of the intel on what's going viral. While 2020 was all about making dalgona coffee and banana bread, in 2021, we are seeing some game-changing beauty hacks being dropped on the app. After a tonne of research and sifting through countless videos and reels (we're not complaining), we've found the best ones for you to try.

These Skincare And Makeup Hacks Will Take Your Beauty Game To Another Level

The Excessive Foundation Hack

If you're all about makeup maximalism, this viral foundation hack is going to be right up your alley. This flawless base makeup trend was kickstarted by TikToker Meredith Duxbury and to try it, all you need is some liquid foundation and clean fingers.

What to do

  1. Pour some foundation on the back of your hand and apply it to your cheeks, nose, chin and forehead using the back of a makeup brush.
  2. Rub the foundation all over your face and neck. Take some more if required.
  3. Continue doing your makeup with liquid or cream products and set everything with powder.

Red Lipstick As Blush

Using blush to contour your face aka draping is a method that's been going viral on social media for a while now and we're all for it. I mean, have you seen such a natural rosy glow? The only downside? If you are a powder blush loyalist, you might be a little disappointed. This trick requires you to ditch blush formulas and instead opt for a cherry red lipstick for a flushed, natural look.

What to do

  1. Moisturise and prime skin so your base products apply seamlessly.
  2. Directly swipe red lipstick across your cheeks and forehead.
  3. Blend with a brush or beauty sponge.
  4. Apply the rest of your base products (foundation, concealer) over the blended lipstick.

Using Concealer To Fake A Facelift

This faux facelift trend was started by TikToker Megha Singh and is just what you need to try if you find your makeup getting cakey.

What you need

  1. Take concealer (about one or two shades lighter than your skin tone) and draw a line outwards to highlight the natural contours of the face (the inner and outer corner of the eyes, under the cheekbone, and the outer corner of the mouth). This will give you an ‘instant facelift’.
  2. Blend well using a brush or damp sponge
