From Sui Dhaaga To The Nun: All The Movies You Should Be Ready For This September!

September is here! And so are some amazing Bollywood and Hollywood movies that were lined up for their release. From Sui Dhaaga to The Nun, there are a few big names to look forward to this month. And we’ve compiled the ultimate list of movies to release each week, aiding your weekend plans.

1. Laila Majnu – 7th September

The age-old story retold by two of the finest storytellers in India, Imtiaz Ali and Ekta Kapoor. The trailer and the songs look impressive and we can’t wait to watch the movie this weekend.

2. Paltan – 7th September

From the makers of Border, Paltan focuses on the Nathu La military clashes of 1967. A multi-starrer, from the looks of the trailer, this movie has quite the potential to turn into a cult classic, much like its predecessor.

3. The Nun – 7th September

Another one from The Conjuring film series, this horror movie is not for the faint-hearted. So if you’re looking for a nightmare-inducing weekend, this is what you should be watching.

4. Sierra Burgess Is A Loser – 7th September

Netflix is back with yet another teen movie that has the potential of living up to the buzz created by To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before. It also stars Noah Centineo, famous for his role as Peter and Shannon Purser from To All the Boys I’ve Loved and Stranger Things, respectively.

5. Manmarziyaan – 14th September

A promising cast and a Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam-esque storyline, the trailer created quite a buzz and the songs have been topping charts. Manmarziyaan may just be Abhishek Bachchan’s best film to date.

6. Love Sonia – 14th September

Quite an impressive star cast, including Rajkumar Rao, who seems to be on a roll lately. Love Sonia explores human trafficking and those who are constantly working against it.

7. Mitron – 14th September

A just-for-laughs film that follows three friends on a journey to success. Not an impressive trailer but we’re hoping it’s at least a one time watch.

8. A Simple Favour – 14th September

Blake Lively is back with another elegant and mysterious role. A Simple Favor promises a lot with an exciting trailer that works on the strong suits of both its actors. Anna Kendrick’s humour and Blake Lively’s charm.

9. The Angel – 14th September

A high-intensity film that follows a spy who becomes an advisor to the president. Based on the true story of Ashraf Marwan, this Netflix Original looks promising.

10. 5 Weddings – 21st September

Yet another failed take on Bride And Prejudice, made solely for the NRI audience in an attempt to cash on the nostalgia factor.

11. Batti Gul Meter Chalu – 21st September

You’d expect something more promising from Shahid Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor but the trailer is a sad take on an obvious problem. With some hilarious punchlines and a talented star cast, let’s hoping the movie is better than the trailer.

12. The House With A Clock In Its Walls – 21st September

A fantasy film adapted from the book of the same name, this thriller will leave you enchanted. If you’re a fan of the Harry Potter series, this should be your pick.

13. Sui Dhaaga – 28th September

The family movie you should be looking forward to this September. Varun Dhawan and Anushka Sharma are here with a heartwarming story that promises to stay with you.

14. Pataaka – 28th September

Quite a confusing, yet exciting trailer that keeps you interested. With the signature touch of Vishal Bhardwaj, Pataaka has a raw rustic feel to it and promising characters.

15. Smallfoot – 28th September

Warner Bros. is back with an adorable animation set in the world of Bigfoot as he travels across the world looking for ‘small foot’ aka humans.
