Now that Cannes is over, the attention, unfortunately for Bollywood stylists, is back to other actresses and their sartorial crimes. Can't quite tell where this is going? Wait a few seconds.
Back in Cannes, Sonam Kapoor Ahuja, Deepika and Kangana gave us some head-turner outfits, didn't they? Especially Kangana, that embellished jumpsuit was a bold move (worth taking)!
All of her Sabyasachi looks were just as stunning.
On her return, the 'Queen' attended the monthly issue launch of an architectural magazine. We must say, her look at the launch was a lot to digest. In a great, stupendous way, of course.
Miss Ranaut slayed all the way in a mustard t-shirt dress with a glorious sequinned dragon on the front with a very 'positive' message. Fabulous, isn't she? Great choice, Team Kangana Ranaut. This piece was designed by French high fashion label, Dior, for their SS 18 collection.
Coming to the 'sartorial crimes' I began the story with... I'd assume fashion girls are well aware what Dior is and what the label's designs look like... But it looks like Tanya Ghavri, well-known Bollywood fashion stylist, forgot or was just plain oblivious to them - she knowingly or otherwise, supported blatant plagiarism by styling Shraddha Kapoor in a Dior knockoff by Mumbai based label Purple Paisley (boooooo!).
This was brought to Instagram's attention by growing and literal fashion police, Diet Sabya, of course.
It's beyond ridiculous how uncanny the 'resemblance' between Shraddha's black dress and Dior's Cruise '18 collection dress is.
Facts that give away that the dress is more 'copy' than 'coincidence' -
1. Dior's signature tape straps
2. Sheer, polka-dotted fabric
3. The heart and star motifs
Obviously, Bollywood stylists need to buck up and pay more attention. I feel bad for Shraddha, but like Diet Sabya suggested, maybe she should go back to her ex-stylist, Shaleena Nathani! Better luck next time.
