No Other Drugstore Mascara Makes My Lashes Look As Good As The Lakme Eyeconic Does

If you're like me and struggle with super thin lashes, you know the hassle all too well. Oiling them for growth feels like an endless, messy task, and let's not even get started on the quest for volume. I've always leaned towards volumising mascaras to give the illusion of fuller lashes. But here's the catch - every mascara I've tried has been a double-edged sword. They either require a heavy-duty cleanser to remove, which ironically ends up removing more lashes than I can afford to lose, or they just don't deliver on their volumising promise.

What Is It?

The Lakme Eyeconic Curling Mascara – Black is not just any mascara. The product is part of my holy grail of eye products. It features a smart curl brush designed to give your lashes a stunning curl and the formula is infused with D-panthenol, a key ingredient known for moisturising lashes and keeping them smooth.

Furthermore, its lightweight nature ensures easy application and removal, offering comfort throughout the day. Being waterproof, it promises to stay put for hours without smudging or clumping.

Our Thoughts

I think it’s time for Lakme to start sponsoring me. I love their products so much, especially their entire eye range and especially this mascara. The formula is intensely pigmented and stays on throughout the day as long as you don’t rub your eyes. Additionally, application is a breeze and these come off with a simple, thorough face wash so you don’t have to go in with a heavy balm which might end up clogging your pores (especially if you have acne-prone skin under your eyes). Having said that, the mascara is definitely waterproof – it does not budge in the rain or when you cry!

I will say that the brush isn’t too great. It does not ‘curl’ and neither does it promote even application. It does a pretty bad job at dispersing the product which is why I have an eyelash comb + spoolie that I use post-application to separate my lashes back to their natural configuration. Additionally, the mascara does not make your lashes look thicker – it simply enhances your pre-existing lashes. Apart from that, no issues.

How To Use It?

Start by curling your lashes if desired. Then, using the unnecessarily fat brush, apply the mascara from the base of your lashes and sweep upwards in a zigzag motion. This technique helps in evenly coating each lash and enhancing the curl.

For a more dramatic effect, apply a second coat. When it’s time to remove, any standard makeup remover should do the trick effortlessly. I just focus on my eyes while double-cleansing and that also does a good job at removing any pigment.
