From comedy roles and romantic characters to action-packed sequences, Katrina has made some very different choices when it comes to picking scripts. However, she never received the credit for it. Her male co-stars always snatched her attention and she was reduced to a second character in the movie.
Which is strange because she’s so capable as a performer, and a phenomenal dancer. Be it Dhoom 3’s Kamli or Jab Tak Hai Jaan’s Ishq Shava, she has time and again proved that she’s the queen of dancing. She has even said that dancing is one of her true passions.
Also, how can we overlook her acting in movies like Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara and New York? She played the iconic roles to such perfection that we can’t image any other actor playing those characters. In fact, we still relate to these characters even though it has been more than a decade since these movies were released.
She might not be the greatest actor in the whole world but her growth from movies like Maine Pyaar Kyun Kiya? and Humko Deewana Kar Gaye to Tiger 3 and Merry Christmas, is proof that she’s evolving as an actor – just like how we evolve in our respective fields. And to be honest, she’s doing a phenomenal job at it.
And with her recent release, Merry Christmas, she’s finally receiving the due credit for her acting and our cheers couldn’t be louder.
Sometimes, we need to realize that a woman actor is more than her looks and even though they are growing gradually, they are moving upwards!
