When it comes to celeb couples, fans tend to get super invested in their love stories. It often comes to a part where fans feel like they are very much a part of these relationships. This is exactly why they feel equally heartbroken every time any of their fave celeb couples decide to part ways. Well, over the years there have been a number of telly couple breakups that almost made fans (read, me) feel like love is just an illusion. Scroll down to take a look:
Varun Sood & Divya Agarwal
Divya and Varun started dating during a TV reality show called Ace Of Space. In no time, they became fan favourites. However, after four years of dating, the couple called it quits in June 2023. In an interview, the Divya star opened up on their breakup and said, “Whatever has happened is very wrong and it has happened because of me. I need to put a stop somewhere. And that’s why it was an abrupt break-up. I just got the car to a screeching halt.“
Aamir Ali & Sanjeeda Shaikh
Sanjeeda Shaikh and Aamir Ali’s separation was a major shocker for all of their fans. They appeared like the perfect jodi and I was in love with their social media PDA. In August 2020, the couple publicly announced the arrival of their daughter. However, just a few months later, the stars also announced their split. Aamir and Sanjeeda remained mum on the reason for their separation but continued to co-parent their daughter Arya Ali.
Jennifer Winget & Karan Singh Grover
For every Dill Mill Gaye fan, Karan and Jennifer were the definition of “couple goals”. Their fairytale romance was followed by an equally dreamy wedding in 2014 that made everyone believe in true love. However, just two years later, they filed for a divorce. During a media interaction, the Beyhadh star shared that they were not ready for marriage and it was ‘unfortunate timing’.
Rithvik Dhanjani & Asha Negi
A breakup doesn’t mean you can’t be friends and no one has proved it better than Rithvik and Asha. The two met on the sets of Pavitra Rishta in 2013 and sparks flew. After dating for seven years, they announced their breakup in 2020 which sent shock waves on social media. However, the two remain close friends and this speaks volumes about their relationship.
Ankita Lokhande & Sushant Singh Rajput
Another memorable love story that started on the sets of Pavitra Rishta was of Ankita and Sushant. The two dated for six years and everyone believed that they would get hitched soon. However, in 2016 Ankita and Sushant announced their breakup. After Suhant’s unfortunate demise in 2020, Ankita stood by his family’s side and that says a lot about their love for each other.
Kushal Tandon & Gauahar Khan
Like many telly stars, Kushal and Gauahar fell in love in the Bigg Boss 7 house. They stood by each other’s sides during the toughest phases in the house but after getting out of the house, the romance fizzled out.
Ridhi Dogra & Raqesh Bapat
Ridhi and Raqesh met on the sets of Maryada – Lekin Kab Tak in 2010. They started as friends but in no time they fell in love. Their dreamy wedding in 2011 made their fans swoon. However, after more than a decade of marriage, they announced their separation in July 2023. Their mutual statement read, “This decision has been taken with mutual respect and care for each other and our families. We are two best friends who may not be a couple anymore.”
I believe just because some love stories are short-lived, doesn’t mean they are any less special. Let’s cherish the love these stars shared, not the end of it.
