It’s been over a year and we still cannot stop gushing over Taimur Ali Khan, we’re not sorry! So, it comes as no surprise that he has become the media’s favourite kid all thanks to the chubby cheeks and adorable smile. From stepping out in style with his mommy dearest to waving at the paparazzi, you’ve got the admit, the toddler’s got style!
While we all can’t wait to watch him on the big screen, looks like mom Kareena has different plans for her one-year-old! During an event in Mumbai, the actress was asked what profession she would like to choose for Taimur, and she was quoted saying, “I wouldn’t want to choose, I hope he chooses.” She went on to add, “Well, I would want Taimur to be a cricketer.” Turns out, she wants her son to follow his paternal grandfather, Late Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi’s, footsteps and take up the nation’s favourite sport.
Talking a little more about his career, Kareena added,”I would like him to do something with his life and then I would like people to appreciate him. He is still very small and he should actually be given a chance rather than having so much of this kind of pressure that is already on him. It is so scary.”
The protective mother that she is, she further went on to say,”Of course, as a mother I am paranoid. Every mother is paranoid about their child. But the more I think about it or think about putting a kala teeka or not send him out of the house, I think that is being over paranoid, so I am just trying to let him have a normal life.”
Saif Ali Khan thinks the same way as his wife. He, too, wants his son to stay away from all the media attention. He said in an interview,”He has innocence in his eyes, there is nothing pretentious, but yes I am worried about him. I and Kareena have already discussed the stardom he already has around him and we have decided to send him to a nice boarding school in England. It will hopefully do the trick. It has done for everybody in the family. Kareena is going to be a very good mother. She will not be impressed if he is spoilt.”
Right after Taimur was born, Kareena declared him to be the most good looking man on Earth. She said, “Taimur is the most beautiful baby. My son is the gorgeous man this side of the equator. There are a lot of responsibilities on you once you become a mother. You feel that your heart is not beating inside you, but outside your body, and that is the biggest responsibility. Both me and Saif always wanted this. We used to talk about all these things. Both of us see ourselves in Taimur and this is the most special thing.”
Talking to a leading magazine, Saif disclosed to what he thinks about Taimur’s genes, “He is a genetic treasure trove, he is. He has got a bit of Rabindranath Tagore, he is a bit of Raj Kapoor, a bit of Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi, a little bit of Bhopal. It’s beyond me.” He also mentioned, “Taimur has just started his life. It’s important for us to make sure he grows up to be a balanced person. Hopefully, he will get used to it; I don’t think he knows any better. He knows there are cameras pointing at him all the time.”
No matter what profession does Taimur plans to choose, we wish him and the parents all the luck and success.
