We Just Got All The Deets On Yami Gautam’s Wedding Saree & It’s Making Us Emotional

Ladies, I am not Indiana Jones. But if you are ever looking for treasure, I can tell you how to find one—by raiding your mom’s closet. Thank me later!

From generations-old silk sarees to embroideries that this era can never recreate, their priceless collection has it all. I’m not even kidding when I say that sometimes I consider getting married, just to wear my mom’s gorgeous kanjeevaram sarees that she received from her grandmom.

You know what? I’m defs wearing that to my wedding because now I have another strong reason to believe that it’s a wonderful idea. Yami Gautam did the same. She wore her mother’s saree at her shaadi and OMG, she looked so stunning!

Believe it or not, but this beautiful red Banarsi saree with intricate silver work is 33 years old. It’s a hand-me-down from her mother and it makes us believe that indeed, their collection is truly ageless. The actress had paired the saree with an equally traditional blouse that flaunted silver floral motifs all over it. And, do you know where her dupatta with the classic gota work was from? It was a gift from her maternal grandmom. Yami’s bridal trousseau is all things elegant and after learning its history, we are in love with it.

The Uri actress’s heirloom jewellery that included choker, maang tikka, nath, and kalire gave her entire OOTD a regal look. We gotta say, this pahadi bride looked absolutely divine on her D-Day.

Apart from her outfit, we also loved Yami’s subtle makeup look that was perfect for a daytime wedding. Turns out, the actress did her own makeup and got her hair styled by her sister, Surilie Gautam. The Vicky Donor actress went with bright lips and smokey eyes and while this combination is not easy to ace, Yami nailed it perfectly.

Here’s how you can recreate it:

The actress and filmmaker Aditya Dhar tied the knot on June 4 in an intimate setting. And, ICYMI, the couple took only two days to prep for their wedding.

NGL, I’m totes ditching OTT shaadi ceremonies and sticking to simple and perfect ones just like Yami and Aditya.
