India beat Pakistan for the seventh time in the Cricket World Cup history in yesterday’s match and it was a massive win too! India gave a target of 337 runs to Pakistan and won the match by 89 runs. The eventful Sunday was interrupted by rains thrice, saw Rohit Sharma at his best (hitting 140 runs) and featured Vijay Shankar taking a wicket on his first ever ball in World Cup. Brilliant, isn’t it?
On top of it, actor Ranveer Singh stepped into the shoes of a commentator at the match. He sat beside former cricketer Sunil Gavaskar and he took the microphone to describe the mood of the match. The Gully Boy‘s gigantic coat and sunglasses were a hit with his fans.
In fact, Ranveer gave captain Virat Kohli a giant hug after the match congratulating him on the victory against Pakistan. On Virat’s Instagram post, he commented, “GIANTS !!!!!! 👑 …. unforgettable team performance !!! 🙌🏽 Bossman VK leading from the front 🏏✊🏽 inspiration to a whole generation ❤️🙏🏽🙌🏽 BRAVO, KAPTAAN !!!”
Talking about the experience, Ranveer said in a statement, “It’s raining legends, and for me, it’s like dream come true; sitting next to Virender Sehwag – we are chatting and commentating. The India-Pakistan match is happening; one side I see Sachin Tendulkar and the other side I see Brian Lara, Waqar Younis, Wasim Akram – it’s a great feeling.”
“I have taken Jatin Sapru’s job! Jatin, I really love you and so does the entire nation – you are probably someone who loves this job, just like me. It was lovely hosting this show,” added the ’83 actor.
