What's the first thing that comes to your mind when we say superhero? Ask any modern millennial and you'll most likely get Batman, Superman, Iron Man, or perhaps, The Hulk as answers. But, ask Vicky Kaushal the same question and you're not going to believe how desi, and relatable his answer is.
Vicky recently shared this picture of himself on Instagram, standing in front of a graffiti wall. The wall had all your favourite marvel characters painted on. The Joker, The Flash, Harley Quinn, Batman, Deadpool and Doctor Strange. But, ask our how's the josh actor and he'll tell you that his favourite is none other than Shaktimaan. He captioned the photo "... but I
Shaktimaan" and the 90's Indian kid in me couldn't be happier!
For all of you millennials reading this, here's a quick fact check on the TV show Shaktimaan. Mukesh Khanna played the character and it was one of the best children's shows that ran on Doordarshan between 1997 to 2005. Shaktimaan was a regular guy who attained superpowers through meditation and the five elements of nature - Earth, Air, Fire, Water and Space. He was the OG Indian superhero before Marvel even happened.
Oh Vicky you're so fine, You're so fine you blow my mind! Oh Vicky! Oh Vicky!
Alright, now that this tune is out of my head (and into yours) we'll move on. On the work front, Vicky has his hands full with a lot of projects. His last project, Uri: The Surgical Strike won him a lot of accolades for his exemplary performance. Vicky even won the National Award for Best Actor for Uri. This year, we're going to see him in movies like Takht and Bhoot Part One.
