Trolled Some More: Twitter Slams Sonam Kapoor For Her Views On Scrapping of Article 370

Sonam Kapoor is known to be outspoken, unapologetic and unabashed when it comes to voicing her opinions. To her dismay, this gets her in trouble more often than not. The Neerja actress has been trolled on social media many times for saying things that are deemed non-sensical by netizens. And looks like she has invited trouble once again!

Sonam recently spoke about what she thinks of the revoking of Article 370.

Here’s some background on the Kashmir situation: The Indian government scrapped Article 370 that granted special status to Jammu & Kashmir, on August 5, 2019. Jammu and Kashmir was declared as a Union Territory. All hell broke loose on social media and netizens flooded the cyberspace with their opinions on the historic move.

While the internet was divided about the decision, there were a couple of Bollywood celebrities who came out in support. Kangana Ranaut, Dia Mirza, Pooja Bedi, Anupam Kher, Raveena Tandon and many others took to Twitter to congratulate the government for this move.

In an interview with a news network, Sonam revealed that she was not aware of the entire situation because of contradicting news everywhere. She then claimed that she has not been to Kashmir because of the unrest in the region.

Sonam also revealed about her roots and said that she is half Sindhi and half Peshawari. She said, “It’s heartbreaking to see part of my culture is something that I can’t explore as well because of that (referring to relations between India and Pakistan).”

Talking about the Kashmir situation, Sonam said, “It’s heartbreaking to see where the situation has landed right now and I’m very patriotic. So I think for me now it’s better to keep quiet and let this pass because even this too shall pass.

She further added, “I hope there is a peaceful way of working things out. I don’t know how that’s possible but I think there should be because it’s a beautiful place that I think has been under so much duress.
