I used to think being called ‘beautiful‘, ‘sexy’, ‘magnificent’ was enough to make a lady blush. But now there is another level of complimenting a woman, courtesy: Tony Kakkar. Ladies, are you ready to be described as… er… Coca Cola? That’s right! Tony Kakkar’s new song with over 1.7 million views on YouTube is called ‘Coca Cola Tu’. The song begins with a generic beach shot and a woman dancing in her bikini top and shorts (yeah, clearly the fashion industry is wasting time producing clothes, because men only like this look! *eyeroll*) and then Tony says and I quote “Thande ki bottle tu, main tera opener, tujhe gatt gatt main peelun, oh coca cola tu…” (You’re like a cold drink bottle, I am your opener, I will drink all of you in a minute, you’re Coca Cola…)
If on one hand, I had Rahat Fatah Ali Khan sweeping me off my feet, with “Chehra jaise ghazal, chehra jaan-i ghazal” and on the other Tony telling me “Oh Coca Cola tu!” – you know exactly whose arms I’d be running into! And hence, we thought it wise to award the lovely Kakkar and his crappy efforts in describing a woman’s beauty by our much sought-after POPxo Sadela Karela Award. In fact, we were so inspired by his creative genius that we just established the award!
