Happy Birthday, Baba! 10 Times Ranveer Singh Proved He's Not Your Average Gully Boy

Ranveer Singh, a powerhouse of energy, has always floored his audience and critics alike with his stellar performances. Yesterday, he posted the poster of his movie Lootera, which recently completed 7 years. Even though this movie did not do that well at the box office, it was touted to be one of the best performances of his career. And, wait, we didn't say it, wifey Deepika Padukone did. Deepika, who is Ranveer's biggest cheerleader, commented on one his Instagram posts saying "One of your best performances!❤️"

And there's no sweeter praise than that, is there?

Ranveer Singh's Top 5 Movie Performances

Time and again, Ranveer has proved that he is the most versatile actor in the industry. From acing roles like Khilji in Padmaavat and Kabir in Dil Dhadakne Do, he has proven that it only takes dedication and love for your work to be best in the business. So, on his 35th birthday today, we wanted to list 5 of the most amazing performances of his career. Here are our top five picks:

Padmavaat

I am not sure if everyone will agree with me, but I believe that no one could have performed the role of Khilji better than Ranveer. One of the most moving characters of all times, Ranveer had to isolate himself for days to get into the 'Khilji' zone. Directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, this movie was a super hit despite many controversies.

Simmba

According to a lot of people, only intense roles get critical acclaim across all platforms. However, I believe that 'frivolous' characters like Simmba also need a great deal of hard work. After all, it's not easy to do justice to a movie or role like Singham, right?

Bajirao Mastaani

What more can I say other than the fact that this movie was airing in the theatres for 100 long days? Another blockbuster by the lucky trio--Deepika, Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Ranveer, this movie was a visual treat. Ranveer's performance in this movie as Bajirao floored the audiences and critics alike.

Lootera

Based on a book called The Last Leaf, this movie did not do very well at the box office but was touted to be one of his best performances so far. As we said, we didn't say it, DP did! *wink*

Raamleela

A movie that has got one of my favourites on-screen and off-screen Jodi together has to be on the list. Not just because it stars Ranveer and Deepika but also because this movie was the best adaptation of Romeo and Juliet. Well, at least the best desi adaptation of the Shakesperian classic for sure. Don't you agree?

Ranveer's Best Moments On TV

Not just that, he made some really amazing appearances on TV and reality shows and we have picked out our top 5 Favourites!

At IIFA, 2018

I absolutely loved it when he rapped with Karan Johar and Kartik Aaryan on stage during IIFA 2018.

At IIFA, 2018... again

Looks like even Ranveer Singh can't help but get googly eyes in font of King Khan. This time at IIFA, he told SRK to marry him. All we can say is, same, Ranveer... same!

On Koffee with Karan, Season 4

Our favourite moment from Ranveer's KWK appearance is when he told the world who his favourite 'Khan' is.

On The Kapil Sharma Show

This was classic Ranveer. This time, he played a tree Sonakshi wanted to take home!

On, well..social media

And last but not least...An iconic Ranveer moment was when he let DP chop off his infamous Bajirao moustache <3
