This TikTok Grandma-Grandson Jodi Is A Star, Hands Down! Seen Their Videos Yet?

TikTok is changing the way social media works. If you’re having a bad day, some videos on the app have the potential to make you laugh out loud. The content is a refreshing outlier in the social media universe.

Earlier, the Madras High Court issued a ban on TikTok after it found that the platform hosted pornographic content. The ban was interim and was lifted on April 24, 2019. While the app is out of trouble for now and thriving with hilarious new videos, the case is still undergoing. But TikTok lovers need not worry, it is completely safe to download or update the app.

It owes its raging popularity to its users who just can’t get enough. TikTok sure has the power to make anyone an international sensation overnight. The recent viral sensation? This cute grandma-grandson jodi, who has been sharing their duet videos on the platform.

While most grandmas and grandchildren bond over family meals and holidays, Akshya Partha and his grandmom do things differently. When they get together, they make videos to share online with their fans. Their videos are getting a lot of love on social media and Akshay has already garnered a following of 152.1k people. The awwwdorable part of the videos? Grandma’s expressions! From popular Hindi remixes like Leke Pehla Pehla Pyaar to famous Tamil songs like Kolaveri D, the duo is seen grooving (with synchronised moves) in the videos.

Other than its users, the controversies also keep them in the news. TikTok was taken down by Apple INC and Google and it was banned in the country. But this didn’t deter Indian users and they started sharing their videos on Twitter. However, the Supreme Court carried out a hearing on April 22 where it asked the Madras High Court to take a decision on the interim ban till April 24. And finally, the Madras High Court removed the interim ban after stating that the court’s intention was to protect children from cyber crimes.

Fortunately, the app, owned by Bytedance Ltd is up and running and has more than 119 million users in India alone! Love it or hate it, you can’t ignore it!
