Squeaky Clean In Less Than 5 Minutes: Use This Hack To Clean Your Makeup Sponge!

Squeaky Clean In Less Than 5 Minutes: Use This Hack To Clean Your Makeup Sponge!

One of the best gifts a makeup enthusiast can give herself is a top-quality beauty sponge. It spreads the liquid foundation and every other liquid or cream product evenly and gives the skin a gorgeous airbrushed finish. Depending on how well one takes care of it, a beauty sponge will last you for about 3-6 months.

Many of us are aware that beauty sponges need to be washed after each time we use them, unfortunately, we slack sometimes. Not washing the beauty sponge often will make it a breeding ground for bacteria. If you notice tiny blackish-green spots on your beauty sponge, don’t mistake them as makeup stains, they’re 100% mould. This happens because of improper drying and cleaning.

This Genius Hack Will Make Your Beauty Sponge Squeaky Clean In Less Than 5 Minutes

No miniature beauty sponge washing machine required, just baby shampoo and plain water will do the trick! Here’s how to make your old beauty sponge look like brand new.

What You Need:

Step 3: Put the bowl in the microwave, turn it on and let it be in there for a minute.

Step 4: Once time’s up, remove the bowl, squeeze out the excess water from the beauty sponge.

Step 5: If the sponge isn’t squeaky clean yet, then repeat the process.

Note: Since the water will be piping hot, you’ll have to wear gloves while doing this. Also, instead of baby shampoo, many women use dish soap. However, I don’t recommend it. If by chance your beauty sponge contains dish soap residue, it can irritate the skin and cause breakouts. Baby shampoo, on the contrary, won’t cause your skin to flare up.

You got to try this makeup hack to believe it!
