We already know the colour of the year that was said to reign supreme come 2020. As per Pantone's report in December 2019, Classic Blue—a shade that belongs to the azure family—was announced as the Pantone Colour of the Year for 2020. This, of course, being before the time our lives were changed in the face of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. It's only natural that in sync with the current scenario, our moods have also changed. While announcing the colour for the year 2020, the leading colour authority also mentioned other palettes that would be of interest. For Autumn/Winter 2020/2021, rich and minimalistic hues take centrestage, as per Pantone's forecast. "Offering a rich narrative, the colour palette for Autumn/Winter 2020/2021 highlights our desire for versatile, timeless colour. Reflecting a 'less is more' mindset that is becoming increasingly important to consumers prioritizing value and functionality, our colour palette is stripped of excess," reads a statement on the website. 

Taking all that into account, it's not surprising that the "smooth and subtle off-white shade" of Almond Oil emerges as the comforting tone we are eyeing. A cross between ecru and camel, the colour pertaining to the off-white family imparts a sense of calm and comfort, something we could definitely use.
