He had made the announcement on Instagram by sharing a poster of the film with the caption, “Glad to be a part of this journey... a timeless film. Voicing it in Hindi with my own Simba. The last time we did a film was around 15 years ago and it was 'Incredible' and this time around it's even more fun. Hope everyone enjoys it 19th July onwards.”
Yesterday, The Lion King Hindi teaser released and netizens couldn’t help but find similarity between Aryan and SRK’s voice. Fellow industry friends were all praises for the teaser. Gauri Khan too shared it on her Instagram and wrote, “Watching this on repeat 😍”
Shah Rukh and Aryan have previously dubbed for the Hindi version of The Incredibles (2004), where the former voiced Mr Incredible and the latter, his son Dash. In fact, Aryan also played the young Rahul Raichand in Karan Johar’s Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham.
In a statement, King Khan revealed that the 1994 animated version of the film, also titled The Lion King, is a family favourite and that he can totally 'relate' to the character of Mufasa. "The Lion King is that one movie that my entire family loves the most and it holds a very special place in our hearts. As a father, I can totally relate with Mufasa and the endearing relationship he shares with his son, Simba. The legacy of Lion King is timeless, and being a part of this iconic re-imagining with my son Aryan makes it extra special for me." The actor further said, "We are most excited that AbRam is going to watch this."
The Lion King is a live-action film and all set to release on July 19. It will also release in Tamil and Telugu.
