Sridevi’s sudden demise on the 24th February 2018 did shock everyone and left so many of us heartbroken. But as her friends and family rightly said – her legacy will continue because she has left so much for us to cherish. Speaking of her legacy, today she has been facilitated with a National Award for her role in the movie Mom, a thriller about a mom out to take revenge for her daughter after she was gang-raped.
Boney Kapoor and his daughters, Jhanvi and Khushi, have expressed the amount of gratitude they felt in the moment and wished that she was there to live it herself. Teary-eyed, they expressed their emotions to a popular daily earlier today.
Sridevi won the Padma Shri in 2013 but this is her first National Award. Vinod Khanna who passed away on 27th April, last year receives the highest film honour – Dada Saheb Phalke award for his contribution to the Indian cinema.
We sincerely wish that she was here to witness this great day, needless to say that she will always be missed for the amazing work she has done over these years and it is through her work that she’ll always live in our hearts!
