In long-term relationships, couples often struggle with keeping the romance alive. Well, if you are looking for some tips, Sonam Kapoor and Anand Ahuja have some pointers to share. Every time we look at this adorable couple, we feel they are even more in love than before. Well, we finally have some insight on how these lovebirds manage to keep their love-life so happening all the time!
A few weeks ago, Anand posted a photo on Instagram captioned ‘girlfriend appreciation post’. Here’s what he wrote: “Girlfriend Appreciation Post! … I love this picture because it captures the beauty, style and ‘NERDINESS’ of my #everydayphenomenal ! #TBT #WillYouBeMyGirlfriend”.
So, while we love this picture, of course, we wondered why Anand referred his missus as GF, especially when Sonam clearly commented, “Love you ‘Husband’”! Recently in an interview to a leading publication, Sonam explained that Anand still calls her his ‘girlfriend’ because they don’t want to let go of the romantic essence of dating. In fact, the Veere Di Wedding actress also revealed that the couple have date night quite frequently and have a rule of never going to bed angry. She said, “Anand still refers to me as his girlfriend and never wants to lose the romance of dating. We go on long walks and step out for a meal and a movie once a week and never go to sleep over a fight.”
We think that’s some seriously wise advice for couples in long-term relationships. By sleeping over a fight, you are blocking your path to communication and carrying forward the negativity to the next day. And date nights? Hell yeah! Those things can never go out of fashion no matter how long acouple has been together.
Sonam in the interview also talked about her love for her husband. She explained that she always knew that Anand is the one for her. According to her, when a person is meant for someone, then they would never want things between them to end, despite the hardships and fights. She further added that she loves her doting husband for his ‘childlike enthusiasm and belief in the best of people without judgment of right and wrong’. In fact, she admitted that she has always been too quick to pick sides but it is because of her husband’s pragmatic approach that now finds it easier to get along with people.
The couple tied the knot in May 2018 and since then, they have mostly been living in their London home. The two of them keep giving us glimpses of their OTT romantic life. Recently at Anand’s birthday, Sonam went all out by posting one video every day where she talked about all of Anand’s favourite things.
