Not one to do things in a conventional manner, Sonam draped a saree with words (yes, words!) written on it. And it wasn’t just any random scribbling, not at all. Designed by ace designer Masaba Gupta, the beige-toned drape carried letters written in Tamil, featured in a beautiful type using the colour black. The designer herself explained the meaning behind the lettering in a picture posted on Instagram. Signifying Sonam and Masaba’s respective names and ‘Ek Ladki Ko Dekha To Aisa Laga‘, the name of her upcoming film, the Tamil words printed on the customised saree were bound to instantly catch the viewer’s eye. Which is precisely what they did.

Moving past the enamouring letters and beautiful type and coming to the rest of the details, the quintessential drape styled by-you guessed it – Rhea Kapoor was a custom silk saree paired with an off-shoulder organza corset blouse. Emphasised sleeves with overpowering detailing made her look truly stand out, whilst giving all us mere mortals a lesson in going the uncustomary route while choosing fashionable blouses to pair with our sarees.
