Tanushree Dutta Case: Shakti Kapoor Cracks A Joke When Asked About The Allegations

By now we’re sure you’ve heard Tanushree Dutta’s allegations that have been flooding the media for the past week. Dutta alleged that 10 years ago on the sets of Horn Ok Pleasss she was made to feel uncomfortable by co-star Nana Patekar. Nana touched her inappropriately during a dance sequence and when she felt uneasy and left the set with her parents, goons from a political party attacked her car. While she tried to get justice at the time too, did media interviews and filed police cases, nobody listened to her. However, things have changed now.

Bollywood celebrities like Sonam Kapoor, Priyanka Chopra, Parineeti Chopra, Anurag Kashyap, Farhan Akhtar and many more have spoken up in support of Tanushree. However, there are still people who are doubting her intentions and making a mock of her situation.

In a recent interview, actor Shakti Kapoor was asked about his opinions on the case. He said, “I don’t know anything about this case. This was 10 years back, I was a kid back then.”

It has not gone down well with the Twitterati and his past has been dredged up. Many have asked him about the assault allegations that he had had, while others brought up his daughter Shraddha Kapoor and what he would have said had it been her on the receiving end of such behaviour.

There may be some who don’t support Tanushree, but the majority are taking her side and lending their support. Love Sonia actor Freida Pinto took to Instagram to share her opinion on the matter. She wrote, “I Believe Tanushree Dutta! I don’t need to know her personally, neither have been present on that horrendous day she got bullied, abused both sexually and psychologically, intimidated and shut down in order to corroborate her story. However, I do know what Truth, Hurt and Abuse sounds like. India – Stand Up, Speak Up. Don’t look to just your superstars to speak up.”

Even Vicky Donor star, Ayushmann Khurrana spoke up and made some pretty valid points. In a conversation with DNA, he said, “They should show some empathy. At the same time, an equal opportunity should be given to both the sides to justify themselves. It doesn’t matter whether she’s taken time (to speak about it) or not. Whatever was wrong was wrong and there’s no time limit to it. Whether you want to come out in the open, it’s your prerogative. Let’s just be fair to both the sides, that’s more important.”

We’re glad that the Bollywood industry is not shying away from taking a stand this time and hope that Tanushree gets justice.
