48 Shades Of Inclusive: Selena’s New Makeup Line Is A Clapback To Tone-Deaf Beauty Brands

48 Shades Of Inclusive: Selena’s New Makeup Line Is A Clapback To Tone-Deaf Beauty Brands

Ever since Selena Gomez announced that she is launched her eponymous makeup brand, Rare Beauty, Selenators (aka the fans of the Latina beauty) cannot keep calm. Earlier this year, Selena took to Instagram to announce her latest venture and we have been waiting for more updates ever since.

Selena has been dropping hints about the much-awaited launch ever since her Insta announcement. She even gave us a glimpse of what products to expect from her brand and judging by these few photos, we say lipsticks, highlighters and foundations 💄

If you love nudes, you’re gonna love this one.

Selena opened up to Amy Schumer for an interview for a luxury fashion magazine where she spilt some secrets about her upcoming launch. Selena spoke in detail about her own relationship with makeup and everything that inspired her. She said, “I wanted to start a conversation about how can you make yourself feel great. It’s not necessarily about needing these things to make yourself feel beautiful.”

Although Selena has not officially announced any dates yet, she did give us the happiest news! “I have 48 shades of foundation and concealer. I use real people in the campaigns,”- Selena revealed. How amazing is that?!

It is not a hidden fact that most makeup brands often overlook the people of colour or hardly launch a few shades for them to use. Even though it’s 2020, inclusivity is a Rare Beauty! Thankfully, Selena has got us covered, quite literally. Rare Beauty is touted to have a pretty great team. Selena has reportedly roped in NYX’s ex-CEO, Scott Friedman to run the brand.

Selena also revealed that she plans to feature ‘real people’ as models for her brand’s ad campaigns. Can we finally say goodbye to photoshopped editorial shoots? Let’s hope so!

Selena Gomez is probably one of the hardest working celebs right now. Singing, acting and now an entrepreneur- is there anything miss Gomez cannot do? And if everything goes as planned, we shall soon see the brand hitting the shelves at Sephora later this summer.

While the bad news is that it will be available at Sephora stores in the US, the good news is that Instagram resellers can get it shipped to your doorstep in India.

We definitely know what you’re doing this summer!💄😉
