We’re counting down days for the sequel of the popular medical drama, Sanjivani, to premier on television. Recently, Star Plus dropped a teaser of Sanjivani 2 and fans couldn’t contain their excitement. The show is all set to make a comeback on the small screen with a mix of old and new cast members.
Actors Mohnish Bahl and Gurdeep Punj will return as Dr Shashank and Dr Juhi, respectively. The teaser also introduced the two new doctors, played by Surbhi Chandna and Namit Khanna. Surbhi plays the role of Dr Ishani, a Punjabi girl who gets into Sanjivani hospital with an aim to prove her parents’ innocence, while Namit will play Dr Sid, a surgeon in the medical drama. The two will start on a bitter note but will eventually be each other’s love interest on the show, much like the original storyline. The team of doctors will also include Sayantani Ghosh and Rohit Roy.

Recently, Sayantani Ghosh shared a BTS video from the sets of Sanjivani 2, in which she talks about how she converses with her assistant director, Gauri, in Bangla while Namit Khanna and Surbhi Chandna try to speak the language and miserably fail at their attempt. Siddharth P Malhotra, the producer of the show, revealed in an earlier interview while introducing Sanjivani 2 to the audience, “In a time of snakes killing people to exact revenge, this show will bring tears to the viewers’ eyes and a smile on their faces. Gurdeep and Mohnish will be reprising their parts, while Rohit Roy and Sayantani Ghosh are new joinees who will be seen in important characters. I auditioned 70-80 girls before Surbhi was finalised. Unlike the earlier show, this time the leads play resident doctors and not interns. It won’t be a frivolous show. Sanjivani was my first show, so it’s important I don’t let myself and the channel down. The set will be different, the writing will be different.”
Well, the cast sure is having a fun time shooting for the show and we can’t wait for these doctors to recreate the magic of Sanjivani together on the small screen!
