Move On, Bhai: Salman Khan Is Still Hung Up On Priyanka Chopra Walking Out Of ‘Bharat’

Salman Khan is a star, and a very powerful one at that. He’s known to hold grudges against people. Remember Vivek Oberoi and singer Arijit Singh?

Sallu Bhai is influential in the industry and he’s known to take digs at people all the time. Lately, Salman has been making a lot of disrespectful statements in interviews with media while promoting his movie, Bharat. Priyanka Chopra is his favourite target these days, but he hasn’t even spared co-star and ex-girlfriend Katrina Kaif. Read on to know what exactly he said about the two leading ladies of Bollywood!

1. She Dumped The Film And Got Married

Recently, in an interview with IANS, he spoke up about how embarrassing it was for him when Priyanka Chopra walked out of Ali Abbas Zafar’s Bharat at the last minute.

Bhai said, “Initially, Priyanka was very keen to do this film. Ali (director Ali Abbas Zafar) and we all thought it was Katrina Kaif’s film. But Katrina and I did Tiger Zinda Hai just before that and Ali said that we need a girl who is ‘Hindustani’. I tried telling him, ‘Why can’t she (Katrina) pull off this role? She has been living in India for the last 20 years.’ But then Ali said, ‘Priyanka ka phone aaya tha… (we got a call from Priyanka)’ and it is also true that Priyanka and my sister Arpita Khan are good friends.”

Salman reiterated that Priyanka was brought on board because she really wanted to be a part of Bharat, but then she decided to quit the project. The Dabangg actor said, “After all this, the ‘Nick story’ happened, the embarrassing thing happened and she chose to get married.”

Salman also talked about how Priyanka spoke to him and informed him about her wedding plans. He said, “Look, she did the right thing. She did what she wanted, and Katrina got what she deserved. She (Priyanka) informed us five days before the schedule was supposed to start… she must have thought that in this way I would get upset with her and will never work with her. She spoke to me saying, ‘Nick has proposed to me and I want to get married, so there will be some date issues’. I said, ‘Sure, get married, we can adjust those two, three days,'” he said.

Salman said that they offered to adjust a few dates according to Priyanka’s convenience, but she told him that she did not want to do Bharat anymore.

Then Salman took a dig at Priyanka saying, “She, over Bharat, did choose the USA in the ‘nick’ of time. She has worked so hard all her life, okay? And when she got the biggest film of her life, she dumped that film and got married. You know, hats off! Usually, people leave their husbands for a film like this.”

We can just say to Salman that people have their own priorities and a movie with you was probably not on PC’s list. Let’s accept it and move on, yeah?

2. She Should Be Married And Produce Children

Salman and Katrina recently appeared on a chat show and the two were talking about their upcoming release Bharat. When the host asked Salman to suggest an alternate career option for Katrina Kaif, he said, “She should be married and produce children.”

3. I Follow Her Everywhere

In an interview with a leading daily, Salman was asked if he follows Katrina (on Instagram), he said, “Har jagah! Abhi main inko ghar tak chhod ke aaunga yahin se.” (I follow her everywhere. I will also drop her off to her place.) Think before speaking, Salman. It’s not flattering for a woman to be followed. It’s called stalking and it’s a criminal offence.

Unfortunately, Katrina and Priyanka, who are normally vocal about women’s issues, have not taken a stand against these unnecessary comments. Singer Sona Mohapatra, in fact, tweeted in PC’s support and called Salman Khan the ‘poster child of toxic masculinity’.
