When you are a master couturier who is known for his craft and artistry, it’s only too natural for legions of fans to follow. And when you are Sabyasachi, that number gets multiplied by a thousand. The renowned designer has been center stage since long, with the majority of Bollywood stars relying on his fashion prowess.
As was with the other recent famous celebrity weddings, Akash Ambani and Shloka Mehta’s wedding celebrations too saw their fair share of Sabyasachi outfits. From A-list guests to the wedding party itself, the designer dressed numerous figures in his signature fashion ensembles for the Ambani wedding, and guess what, we rounded them all up here. Read on!
Nita Ambani
Starting with the Ambani family itself, the mother of the groom, read Nita Ambani, was seen in a faint gold and off-white lehenga by the designer for Akash Ambani and Shloka Mehta’s Mala Mehendi celebrations. The pristine details and embellishments worked their charm, as one would expect from a Sabyasachi offering.
For the Baraat, Mrs Ambani picked a brighter lehenga with extensive embroidered details and floral inclinations. The pink dupatta with border details was the perfect drape to add to complete the outfit.
Isha Ambani And Anand Piramal
Newlyweds Isha Ambani and Anand Piramal too opted to go the regal route with their Sabyasachi outfits for the baraat. Isha Ambani kept it in sync with the family, choosing to wear a pale pastel pink lehenga with extensive craftsmanship while Anand Piramal paired his ivory kurta and churidar with a floral embroidered waistcoat.
Akash Ambani
The groom himself was seen in a pastel pink sherwani for his baraat function, the minimal details working their charm.
The traditional Indian wedding ceremony also saw Akash Ambani donning a beige sherwani by the designer. Fit for royalty, the tone-on-tone details and the layered necklace went along perfectly to complete his look.
Mukesh Ambani
With the entire family dressing up in Sabyasachi couture, it came as no surprise when Mukesh Ambani too picked a floral embroidered sherwani by Sabyasachi.
For the Akash Ambani and Shloka Mehta’s wedding ceremony, the business scion wore an embroidered beige sherwani, paired with the traditional dhoti.
Deepika Padukone
It wasn’t just the Ambani clan who chose to look like royalty in Sabyasachi couture. Deepika Padukone gave us some major Maharani feels in a pink saree from the designer’s Spring Summer 2019 collection. The gold floral embroidery on the saree, the ornate choker and the jewellery made for an impeccable look. Of course, this isn’t the first time the Bollywood actress has worn outfits from the designer’s ateliers. Lest you need reminding, most of Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh’s wedding trousseau featured Sabyasachi ensembles.
Alia Bhatt
Remember that time when Alia Bhatt stepped out in a lime green lehenga with beau Ranbir Kapoor? The actress kept her penchant for vivid colours alive, picking a yellow embroidered lehenga for Akash Ambani and Shloka Mehta’s wedding ceremony.
Karan Johar
Twinning with protégé Alia Bhatt was Karan Johar, who wore a sherwani by Sabyasachi that could very well have been cut from the same cloth. Gold-tinted glares and a pair of flamboyant loafers completed his look for the Ambani wedding.
