A Sabyasachi Bride Wore Deepika Padukone’s Reception Lehenga & Dil Garden Garden Ho Gaya

That dream-come-true moment when you walk down the aisle as a Sabyasachi bride is not limited to just Bollywood divas. Real brides are also opting for celeb-approved Sabya couture as bridal lehengas.

When Alia Bhatt attended Sonam Kapoor’s wedding reception in May last year, her entry made headlines for two reasons – one, it marked the first time Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor made a public appearance together, and two, because of her dazzling Sabyasachi lehenga. Yes, the bright, lime-green lehenga that none of us have been able to get out of our heads. Not long after, we spotted five real brides wearing the same to their mehendi and sangeet ceremonies. Five!

So, naturally, when Deepika Padukone wore Sabya’s Dil Guldasta lehenga to one of her post-wedding festivities, we know history was going to repeat itself. Decorated with floral embroidery depicting various kinds of blooms, Deepika’s lehenga made the red and pink colour combination a wishlist topper for us.

And for many brides-to-be too.

Recently, another bride named Prachi Gupta Badigar wore the Sabyasachi creation to her beautiful Udaipur wedding. While DP gave it a Frida Kahlo theme, idea courtesy Ranveer Singh (obviously), Prachi styled it in a traditional Indian way. Check it out below:

Prachi styled her Sabya lehenga with gold and emerald jewellery by Khanna Jewellers, with a statement choker, a longline layered necklace and matching earrings along with an elaborate maangtika, nath and colourful bangles. She tied her hair into a neat bun and decorated it with real roses.

Have a look at her pictures while on the way to the mandap at Jagmandir island, Udaipur:

Describing the outfit, Sabyasachi Mukherjee said, “The lehenga is intricately embroidered on Bordeaux silk with hand-dyed velvet appliques, silk-floss, beaten silver and gold thread and rose-tinted crystals and rhinestones.” It guarantees oodles of oomph to its wearer and a regal look and feel at the same time. Am I right or am I right?

If you could, which Bollywood actress’ Sabyasachi look will you recreate for your own wedding?
