Does the name Ranu Mondal ring a bell? Ranu, who was spotted singing at Ranaghat railway station in West Bengal a few weeks ago, has become an overnight sensation. Thanks to social media, her video in which she is singing a beautiful rendition of Lata Mangeshkar’s classic, Ek Pyaar Ka Nagma Hai, garnered millions of views.
The internet can’t get enough of her. Another video of Ranu, where she is singing a new song, has gone viral once again. And this time, we also see actor, singer and composer Himesh Reshammiya in the video. In fact, the actor himself shared the video on his Instagram handle. You ask us why? Ranu has recorded a song for Himesh’s upcoming movie, Happy Hardy And Heer, a romantic comedy slated to release in September this year.
Earlier this month, Himesh offered Ranu the opportunity to sing in his upcoming movie at the time when she was invited on the sets of the reality show, Superstar Singer. Ranu’s story is nothing less than a fairytale. From trying to make a living by singing at a railway station to getting a chance to sing on a reality show to now making her Bollywood debut, she sure has come a long way. She has also been getting offers to perform in Mumbai, Kolkata, Kerala and Bangladesh.
If you ask us now, whether dreams come true or not, we’ll just say, Ranu Mondal is proof enough.
