We know Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone fans have been waiting for this moment and it’s finally here! The duo is ready to set the screen ablaze with their sizzling onscreen chemistry in Luv Ranjan’s next action-thriller.
The Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety director is planning to take a break from light, cheery and slice of life films. He is all set to foray into an unexplored genre with Ranbir, Deepika, and Ajay Devgn.
Reports suggest that DP agreed to the role as it is author-backed, and the plot revolves around the female lead. A source close to the Padmaavat actress revealed, “In spite of two solid male stars, Ranjan’s film has a terrific role for the female lead. Deepika is the first choice and there’s no reason why she would turn down a plum role.”
The film is likely to release during Christmas 2020.
Ranbir and Deepika will reunite on-screen after five years. They were last seen together in Imtiaz Ali’s Tamasha. They have also delivered one of the most loved romantic films in Bollywood – Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani. RK and DP also did an advertisement for Asian Paints and together walked the ramp for designer Manish Malhotra last year.
On the work front, Ranbir is gearing for Ayan Mukerji’s Brahmastra, which also stars his ladylove Alia Bhatt. The movie is slated to release in 2020. Deepika, on the other hand, will be seen in Meghna Gulzar’s Chhapaak, portraying the role of acid-attack survivor Laxmi Agarwal.
