Getting married to someone you’ve not known for a long time can be intimidating. Love is important in every relationship, and while it can take a little time to happen in arranged marriages, but love always finds a way. People on Quora revealed how long it took them to fall in love with their better halves. Some of the answers took us by surprise, but now we’re a little more convinced about arranged marriages. What about you?
It took me just a week to say ‘YES’.I belong to a conservative indian family where love marriage is considered to be a sin and parents find the right partner for their children. I met my husband through a matrimonial site. We met each other for the first time with our parents. We exchanged our numbers and then we met unofficially (our parents didn’t know it), 3-4 times. And trust me, by the end of the week I was in love with him. Destiny plays an important role. If it has to happen, it will happen. Doesn’t matter if it’s a love or an arranged marriage. If you are ready to fall in love, love will happen! You just have to be positive!P.S: Before getting married to him, i used to believe that getting married through such websites is somewhat impossible. But, i was wrong, love always finds a way…Also read: Awkward Experiences With Your Crush? You’re Not The Only One!!
Arranged Marriage is very common- in fact it's a norm in my country. Marriage is a family decision, and parents are key figures in deciding whom you marry. Well, most couples I know are happy with their lives, few of them complain about the traditional ways and want to marry someone who they know and love. Love happens and strengthens with time, even when you don’t know your wife or husband that well. There will be a point in your life when you’ll know them well and when you’ll realise that you love them. Love happens when we discover that he/she cares about us, and that they will be there for us no matter what.
It took me about 6 months. Well, he says that he fell in love with me the moment he saw me in that blue saree. When he saw me, he said, "You are looking beautiful". I couldn’t stop smiling because he couldn't take his eyes off me.
When I met him for the first time I was impressed because he was mature, understanding and he had basic manners. He was working in Bangalore and I was in Ranchi, so we met rarely. We got married in a year. He was a little formal with me in the beginning but now he's like a friend and a lover whom I can't live without. Yes, falling in love took time but he's worth it.Also read: What Changes When You Go From Being His Girlfriend To His Wife?
Its been 2.5 years since we got married. It was an arranged marriage. We met through a matrimonial site called jeevansathi.com. I sent him a request and he accepted. Then we started chatting through Google Talk, Whatsapp and sometimes over the phone. Frankly, I fell for him the day we started talking. I realized that he is true gentleman, he’s loving, caring, humble and down to earth. Then we consulted our families regarding each other and then the meetings started (between families). Everything went well we got engaged soon. It just felt like i was living in a dream world. I found a man who is so compatible with me.I forgot to mention one thing-We met for the first time after our engagement was finalised. 9 months after our engagement, we got married. Life has never been so beautiful…
