Priyanka Chopra's acting prowess has led her to not only make a mark in Indian cinema, but also Hollywood. And while acting might be her primary career, the actor has branched out into multiple vocations, be it owning her own production company, being a goodwill ambassador for UNICEF, running a youtube channel, singing or being an Instagram influencer.
We've seen both Priyanka and her husband Nick Jonas do sponsored content on Instagram during the time of their wedding. In fact, both celebrities continue to partner up with brands on their social media platforms time and again.
We're well-aware that Instagram endorsements help celebs make a lot of extra cash, but we had no idea just how much until this very moment. According to a UK-based website called Buzzbingo, Priyanka Chopra was ranked fifth among the highest-paid Instagram celebrities in the world. In fact, Priyanka was the only Indian celebrity to make it to the list.
According to Buzzbingo's report, Priyanka's total income from Instagram endorsements last year was $1.1 million (approximately Rs 77,895,699), at an average rate of $2,71,000 (Rs 19,193,120) per post. Yes, you can pick your jaw off the floor now.
You might think it must have taken Priyanka a LOT of Instagram deals to cash-in that impressive number, but you're mistaken. According to the report, Priyanka had only taken four sponsored posts the entire year. FOUR!
Going back to the list, three other spots were occupied by--you guessed it--the Kardashian-Jenners clan. While Kendall Jenner earned the first position on the list earning $15.9 million, making her the highest-paid Instagram celebrity in the world, followed by singer-actor Selena Gomez on rank number 2, who made $8.5 million.
Kendall's younger sister Kylie earned the third position earning $3.8 million, while her older sister Khloe Kardashian was number four on the list with $1.2 million.
Well, sponsored content aside, Priyanka is currently working on the movie adaptation of Arvind Adiga's Man Booker Prize-winning novel, The White Tiger. She will also be seen in the superhero flick We Can Be Heroes.
While we're happy our desi girl is making all that $$$, we can't help but admit that we're a little bit jealous! Brb, quitting my job to become a full-time Instagram influencer.
