Priyanka Chopra has, over the years, become an international icon, starring in the TV show Quantico followed by Hollywood films such as Baywatch, A Kid Like Jake and her next, Isn't It Romantic? alongside Liam Hemsworth! But the actress obviously hasn't forgotten about her Bollywood heritage and is all set to hit the screens with Bharat, starring Salman Khan, by Eid 2019.
The amazing aspect of that news is that the actress is getting paid Rs 6.50 crores for the film! We're hoping that the gender wage gap between the male and female co-stars in Bollywood is finally being bridged, at least for some actresses and this is a step in the right direction.
Earlier this year, Bollywood set another example when Deepika Padukone was paid Rs 11 crores for Padmaavat, more than her co-star Ranveer Singh in the film.
Bharat is inspired by the highest grossing Korean film in history, Ode To My Father, which was about a man's journey as he witnesses historical events that take place in his country. In this remake, both the actors will be sporting five different looks at different stages of the lives, portraying them aging from 25 to 65 years.
