Priyanka Chopra Jonas is one name that needs absolutely no introduction. From her historic win at the Miss World Pageant in 2000 to being the global icon that she is today, our OG desi girl has definitely come a long way, and we couldn’t be prouder of her journey. It’s been two eventful decades since it all started for PC, and she has taken to her social media handles to celebrate her journey.
On Wednesday, The Sky Is Pink actor shared a video on her Insta handle to take a walk down memory lane, and recalled her entry to the “magical world” of the entertainment industry. The throwback video had snippets from Priyanka’s first Bollywood films like The Hero: Love Story Of A Spy and Andaz, both of which released in 2003. It also included clips from her Tamil debut film, Thamizhan. The video also featured Lara Dutta, who made her debut with PC in Andaz. She spoke about working with Priyanka back then and called them “kaccha papads” (novices).
For the caption, she wrote, “Back to where it all started #20in2020. Seems like another lifetime now… back when it all started and I fell in love with the movies. Being in Indian movies was like entering a magical world.. I went in blind, with no idea what to expect and no formal training. It’s been a rollercoaster ride of challenges and milestones with so much I’ve learned since and so many incredible people I met along the way. I’d like to thank everyone who took a chance on me at the beginning. These 3 movies set me up on a trajectory I would never have expected.”
“Can’t agree more lala paaji #LaraDuttaBhupathi… We were such kaccha papads! Thank you for your beautiful words… you are as gracious and kind as the first day we met,” she added. Watch the video here.
Earlier, Priyanka also shared a video to celebrate the 20-year-anniversary of being crowned as Miss World. She wrote, “Miss World, 2000…Picture this… I just turned 18 and won Miss World! When I finally reunited with my parents among all the chaos on stage, the first thing my mom said to me was babe, what’s going to happen with your studies?” Take a look!
2020 marked her 20 years in the industry and Priyanka has left no stone unturned to celebrate this milestone. And why not? In July this year, she released a video which was a beautiful reminder of her two-decade-journey. ICYMI, here’s the video.
Late in July, PC also recalled her Miss India crowning and shared a video which was a compilation of some of her unforgettable moments at the pageant. She wrote, “ I’m watching footage from my Miss India pageant in 2000! This is where it all began… If you’ve never seen these before, you are in for quite a treat. #20in2020.” Watch it here
Well, we must say that 2020 might have been a nightmare for the entire world, but for Priyanka, it has surely been about a celebration of her achievements. And she totally deserves it!
