Prince Narula, who gained popularity after his appearance on Roadies and Bigg Boss 9 broke the news of his cousin’s death this morning. Prince’s brother, 25-year-old Rupesh, drowned at the beach in Toronto. He was out celebrating Canada Day on the 1st of July with friends and family. Rupesh, who hails from Mohali, Punjab moved to Canada three years ago.
While speaking to an entertainment website, Prince revealed the details and said, “Rupesh had settled in the US. Uski shaadi sirf doh mahine pehle hui thi (It has been just two months since his wedding). He was only 25. Bhabhi was staying with us and her visa etc was being arranged. She would have joined him soon...Bhai was staying with a family in Toronto and they had ventured to a beach spot on Monday. That family went back home after some time, but Rupesh stayed back on the beach with a friend.”
Prince narrated that when the friend left Rupesh to go get his car, he heard a commotion behind him, “The friend also left the beach to pull the car out from the parking lot and Rupesh told him ‘tu chal, main bas aata hoon’ Rupesh’s friend pulled out the car and heard a loud commotion ‘doob gaya, doob gaya’. He ran back inside and they couldn’t find Rupesh for 20 minutes, and when they did, he was no more.”
Prince even went on to say that his brother wasn’t depressed and even though the water at the beach wasn’t too deep, it couldn’t have been intentional. Prince said that his brother was, “Not at all (depressed). He was a very happy guy, just married. He was the apple of our eyes.”
Rupesh’s last rites are said to be held in Mumbai, “Mom and Dad have gone to bring my brother’s body. Yuvika is here with Bhabhi. Can’t believe that Rupesh is gone,” said Prince.
Our heart goes out to Prince’s family and friends.
